Hummer PC
Mini-ITX PC in a 1:10 scale RC Hummer H1 shell
In early 2005 I built a Mini-ITX PC, while doing such stuff was all the rage. It's a fully functional Windows XP PC wrapped around some custom aluminium plates and framework and shoe-horned into a 17cm-wide Hummer H1 Radio Controlled car shell.

Atari video game cartridge labels
Several years back I was active in the retro video games scene. (I still have a lot of old video games that I'm selling.) The website AtariAge ran a series of competitions to design labels for the new games people were producing. A couple of my better designs are shown on the right. You can click on them for a larger image.
AtariAge still have all of the old competition stuff hosted on their site. You can find my entries there for; CastleCrisis, Redemption 5200, Backfire, Haunted House ][ 3-D, Castle Blast, Qb, Mental Kombat & Gunfight. My entries are all under the name Chris Johnson.

BoardGameGeek Microbadges
On the (non-video) gaming website "BoardGameGeek" users can decorate their avatar with a number of 16x16 pixels "microbadges" that are used to signal affiliations and show support for groups, products, sports teams or whatever. I've been designing a number of badges, partially because I want to show support for stuff no one else had made a microbadge for, but also because I enjoy working within the technical limitations of tiny icons. On the right are a couple of examples, blown up so you can see what I have to work with, as well as actual size so you can see the result.

Indy 500 XL level designs
Around the same time AtariAge was having its label competitions they were also having the odd technical game design competion; levels, splash screens, music, that sort of thing. On the right are my two winning designs from the Indy 500 XL level design competition, which were subsequently featured in Issue 2 of Make Magazine (page 85).
I've also developed Combat Redux levels, CVDRUM splash screens & Synthcart beats.
